Blog 1- Lao-Tzu vs Machiavelli
Lao-Tzu and Machiavelli are both leaders yet have very different views. While Machiavelli's greatest belief was to be feared more than to be loved by your people, Lao-Tzu believed it was in your greatest return to feel at peace and to allow yourself as much freedom as possible. Lao-Tzu urged his people to look beyond themselves and told them that your possessions and wealth is meaningless to him and he will still care for you. I related that to today's society because today, if you aren't rich or have a big house or all the important items you won't be thought about and I disagree with that. I dont think your money or your background should have an effect on how you are looked at in the world. On the other hand Machiavelli didn't care about his people. As long as he was the ruler and in charge that's all that mattered. He thought it was better to break promises than keeping them if they would hurt one's interests.
